Collectively, PMF trained and supported over 160 professionals and educators in 2025, strengthening ethical journalism, civic education, public-sector communication and institutional effectiveness.
Policy Engagement, Advocacy and National Convening
PMF played a convening and agenda-setting role in national policy discourse throughout the year. Major engagements included:
- International Women’s Day Webinar
- Advocacy campaigns marking the International Day of the Girl Child and the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls
- Investing in Health in a Limited Fiscal Space (policy webinar)
- National Health Dialogue: Evidence, Innovation, and Financing for a Healthier Nigeria
These platforms convened policymakers, development partners, civil society actors, journalists and citizens, translating evidence into advocacy priorities around domestic resource mobilisation, budget efficiency, insurance expansion, mental health financing and accountability mechanisms.
Strategic Partnerships and Institutional Trust
In 2025, we collaborated with our parent organisation, PUNCH Nigeria Limited, alongside its partners, on key areas including media development, governance, and civic engagement. In partnership with Premium Times and Nigeria Health Watch, we hosted a webinar and a national health dialogue in Abuja focused on advocating for improved health financing in Nigeria, particularly at the grassroots level.
Working with the Wild Africa Fund, we deepened our campaign for wildlife preservation, with a focus on endangered species. This was pursued through in-depth reporting on human activities threatening wildlife sustainability, while also promoting public reorientation towards conservation and responsible environmental stewardship.
Building on these achievements, we look forward to a more robust, strategic, and impactful year of partnership engagement ahead.
Recognition and Excellence
PMF’s commitment to excellence was recognised nationally as PUNCH HealthWise reports won prestigious awards during the year. These awards were driven by investigative stories that exemplified accountability journalism and reinforced PMF’s institutional reputation.
